I played this the week after I moved into my current place, surrounded by actual boxes I hadn't unpacked, which is either the best or worst timing possible, and I got weirdly emotional over where to put a toothbrush

I was off sick for about two weeks last year and this is what got me through, I'd plan the next in-game day in my head while I was trying to sleep, which is either a great sign or a worrying one

Took me two tries to get past White Orchard, the first time was on a laptop that sounded like a jet engine (this was in my old apartment, the one with the mouse problem) and I just couldn't get into it. Second time on a PS4 with a proper TV and it clicked, I think partly because I stopped trying to clear the map and just followed whatever looked interesting, which in this game is usually a person with a small problem that turns out to be a much bigger problem. Gwent is also a problem. I'd played Gwent against every innkeeper in Novigrad before I'd even gone looking for the person the whole game is supposedly about, which says a lot about me, and anyway I'm 140 hours in now and still haven't started Blood and Wine so

Two friends from school and I got this at launch (we've played every Monster Hunter together since the PSP ones) and this is the easiest yet, which I didn't mind but they did, loudly, in the group chat

My dad used to play games like this when I was little and I'd watch from the floor, so playing it myself felt a bit like being eight again, except now I'm the one shouting at the screen, and he called me when I told him I'd finished it

Played this the winter after my grandmother passed (probably not the smartest timing, looking back) and it helped, oddly, all those little rituals of looking after people before they go, I'm not going to say more than that
